Background:
The Iowa Numismatic Association (INA) is a non-profit, educational organization founded in 1938.   Adult annual dues are $10.00 per year (Jan 1 to Jan 1), and youth membership dues (under 18) are $2.00 per year. The INA is a member of the American Numismatic Association and the Central States Numismatic Society.  This site contains a list of coin shows in Iowa.


The Iowa Collector:
The INA's newsletter, The Iowa Collector, is published three times a year February1, June 1, and September 1.

The effort to repeal Iowa sales tax on coins and precious metals has succeeded

Iowa now joins 26 states including Illinois and Missouri to pass similar legislation. The bill became law on July 1, 2006.

Medals Associated with the INA:

1938 INA Medal: The first meeting of the INA was held on June 19, 1938 in Iowa City.  obverse reverse

1946 ANA Medal: On August 17th through the 21st 1946 the INA and ANA held a joint show in Davenport, Iowa in honor of the Iowa State Centennial.  The INA seal appears on the obverse. The designers were Marjorie Ankeny and William M. Baker.  Their initials appear at the lower left and right of the ear of corn.  The reverse was designed by Alphonse A. Kolb.  The medals were manufactured by J. Henri Ripstra, Chicago, IL.

1978 INA Medal: The INA's 40th anniversary was held in Davenport on October 7th and 8th, 1978.  obverse reverse

1988 INA Medal: The INA's 50th anniversary was held in Iowa City.  obverse reverse

1998 INA Medal: The INA's 60th anniversary was held in 1998.  obverse reverse
